    2024 Employment Law Update

    Ben Eckhart

Employment and Labor Attorney, Workplace Law Group

2024 promises to be a year bringing changes for employers. There are changes at federal, state, and local levels including updated rules for independent contractors, salary exemptions (proposed), drug testing for WA employers, compliance guidance on discrimination and harassment from the EEOC. And, we will review any significant recent court cases and, finally, share recommended handbook updates.

      Learning Objectives:

      Participants will be able to:

      • Learn about recent SCOTUS decisions that impact employment law
      • Get up to speed on administrative agency action in wage and hour law, independent contractor, and joint employment
      • Understand the EEOC's 2024 priorities regarding discrimination and harassment regulations
      • Review the latest guidance on any suggested handbook updates

Doors open at 7:30 for breakfast and networking conversations!

This program is pending for 1.0 PDCs toward SHRM-CP® or SHRM-SCP® recertification.
