    Discipline - Do's, Don'ts, and Documentation: This training program is a MUST for anyone who has every been faced with an employment discrimination complaint, wrongful termination charge, failure to meet "just cause", or failure to follow due process.

     
    Human Resources professionals serve on the front lines every day. This session will focus and reflect on the lessons learned from litigation and practical advice to improve your practice when dealing with Employee Discipline. This training will provide a solid foundation of what every HR professional and Manager should know about documenting employee discipline, following due process, and progressive discipline.
     
    About the Speaker: Valerie Hughes, J.D, is a partner in the Seattle office of Perkins Coie LLP, where she has practiced labor and employment law for more than 20 years. She is a partner with the firm's Labor and Employment practice and her background experiences include employment litigation, discrimination and harassment litigation, collective bargaining, grievance arbitration, and administrative proceedings. In addition to her representation of public agencies and private employers, Val provides general counsel representation to Washington school districts, including state and federal court litigation and administrative hearings. She obtained her undergraduate degree in psychology from Bradley University and her law degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
