This presentation will focus on relevant health coverage legislation for the HR professional.
At the state level, topics reviewed will range from new health care benefit mandates to public
options. At the federal level, there will be a review of our current administration’s recent actions aimed at unraveling the Affordable Care Act and what Congress has proposed in the area of health coverage.The meeting will conclude with a conversation about the upcoming election and its project impact on the future of health coverage legislation.

About the Presenter:
Zach Snyder is Director of Government Affairs for Regence BlueShield of Washington State. In this capacity, he leads legislative advocacy efforts for Regence by working closely with lawmakers to shape health policy at the state capitol in Olympia, Washington.
Prior to working for Regence, Zach held a variety of policy which include, leading health policy
campaigns for the Pew Charitable Trusts in Washington, D.C.; representing the Washington State Dental Association before lawmakers in Olympia, Washington; and managing health plan participation for the Washington State Health Benefit Exchange in Olympia, Washington.
Zach lives in Seattle, Washington. In his free time, Zach enjoys spending time with his friends and family, exploring Western Washington’s hiking trails, cycling along Lake Washington, and restoring his 1991 Volkswagen Vanagon.
Zach earned his J.D., with a health law focus area, from Seattle University School of Law, his M.P.A., with an emphasis in government, from Seattle University Institute of Public Service, and his B.A. in political science from Western Washington University.
